As part of our Black History Month initiative, The Presidents' RoundTable (PRT) in conjunction with the PRT Reach Foundation and Black Girls Vote (BGV) is working with the Baltimore City School System to provide approximately 400 students a private viewing and panel discussion of the sensational movie, “Hidden Figures.” This Oscar nominated movie reveals and explores the unique challenges that women in general and African-American women in particular face when they have pursued careers in science and engineering. This movie serves as an excellent reminder to young people, particularly Black females, to completely ignore the direct and indirect messages they begin to receive around middle school that they cannot excel in the bourgeoning technology fields. This movie is a must see for the next generation of engineers and scientists.
